1939 GM FUTURLINER - ONE OF ONLY 12 MADE, The Futurliner is 33’ long, 8’ wide, 11’-7" tall vehicle with a whopping 248" wheelbase. An unusual feature of the Futurliner is its dual (side by side) front wheels. Each wheel has its own set of brakes, brake drums and bearings. The driver's eyes are 10 feet above road level. He has a single seat which is located at the front center of the compartment. The driver's area is intended to feel like a cockpit similar to the fighter planes of the era. Behind him are twin relief seats for assistances or special guests.The compartment is kept at a comfortable temperature by a Frigidaire air conditioner similar to what was available on some 1953 GM passenger cars. The windshield curves almost completely around the compartment and was of green-tinted E-Z Eye glass. Futurliner windshields were the largest E-Z Eye installations ever made up until that time. Futurliners were equipped with the Guide Lamp Division's Autronic-Eye, which automatically lowered the headlight beams when another vehicle approached, then raises the lights again. Power Steering was developed by the Saginaw Steering Gear Division. The steering wheel is mounted on a streamlined column at the front center of the compartment. Foot pedals for the brake and accelerator are treadle type with corrugated rubber treads, set off by chrome plates. There was no clutch. Transmissions are Dual-Range Hydra-Matic manufactured by the Detroit Transmission Division. Each Futurliner was powered by a 145 horsepower, 302 cubic inch GMC gasoline engine, which is located directly under the driver's compartment. Compression ration is 7.3 to 1. Bore and stroke are each 4 inches. They produced 262 foot pounds of torque at 1,400 revolutions per minute. The engine is reached for servicing by a large door which is located at the left front of the vehicle. There are two gasoline tanks, each holding 45 gallons, located in front of the rear wheels. Safety features include dual front wheels which increase roadability and safety rubber covered bumpers give the steel bumpers added protection and rubber rail runs around the base of the body.

This 2003 MCI E4500 Entertainer Motor Coach was a leased coach through Music City USA, to Brooks and Dunn when it was new and then released to Rascal Flatts when the generator on board caught fire..... 1981 MCI MC9 Custom Coach Bus, 8V71 Turbo Diesel, HT754 Allison 5 Speed Auto, 12.5 KW Kohler generator, 190k Miles, tow package with rear hitch and plug for towing a car or trailer, two awnings (one on each side), 12-volt battery charger, 24-volt battery charger, inverter, electric water heater, 12-volt water pump, 24-volt water pump, plastic fresh water tank, plastic black water tank. There are three battery systems: Coach (24-volt) House (24-volt) and Generator (12-volt). Standard 8D batteries are used. The coach is equipped with regular coach heat and coach air conditioning for use while driving. While parked, there are four electric heaters with individual thermostats spaced throughout the coach with a fifth electric heater in the bathroom. There are also electric heaters in the underfloor water compartment. There are two central “house” air conditioners for use while parked. One is located behind the dinette and opposite the galley. The second unit is located in the bedroom.

Has a 50-amp land line and can be fully hooked into water, sewer and electric at a campground.

The buddy/co-pilot seat is double wide and has an adjacent map light. A switch-operated (electric over air) trap door will cover the stepwell. Typical of Custom Coach, there is a fold-up tray centrally located in front that includes cup holders. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable and was recently rebuilt by CMI. Both the front and side dash controls and gauges are standard MCI but additional conversion controls have been added. There is a spotlight, a Jake brake, and a backup camera. The passenger door is opened by a standard handle on the front dash. Above the driver’s windshield is the typical elaborate Custom Coach control panel. Included is a rotary switch for shore or generator power along with a gauge showing input voltage. Circuit breakers are provided on two legs for 110-volt circuits including heating, air conditioning, refrigerator, etc. Toggle switches are provided for both DC and AC circuits including 12- and 24-volt lighting, individual air conditioning units, the block heater, and each battery charger. There are several gauges including battery condition gauges for all three battery systems. Included is a new driver’s radio and a remote start for the generator. Inverter power can be fed to the front or rear entertainment outlets while the coach is moving
