Prices for used school buses can vary depending on whether it's a mini or full-sized school bus, its mileage, what year it is, etc. Many full-sized school buses go for between $8,000 and $15,000. Some of the newer ones can be around $30,000 to $60,000, or maybe even more. Sometimes you can find a mini school bus for as little as several thousand dollars.
Contact your state Department of Motor Vehicles for CDL requirements and an examination manual.
You'll have to check the requirements for the state you're living in and any state your travelling to. Here is a list of some of the things you will/may need:
The cost of a used limo or limo bus varies depending on its mileage, make, model, size, quality of the interior, etc. You can probably expect to see prices ranging from $20,000 to $80,000.
Depending on how many people your limo holds and what state(s) you're going to be operating in, there will be different requirements. Contact your state Department of Motor Vehicles and that for any other state you're going to be operate in to find out what kind of license and permits you'll need.
A used wheelchair van will usually be around $20,000. A used wheelchair bus will typically cost anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000 depending on how many passengers it can carry, how many wheelchair spots it has, mileage, make, model, etc.
There are specific wheelchair lift procedures that you can find on websites like School Bus Fleet. If you will be operating the lift, you need to become trained on pre-boarding procedures, how to raise a manual or motorized lift, and how to load a person in a wheelchair onto the vehicle on your own if assistants are not available. Likewise, any employees of yours who will be operating the wheelchair lift need to be trained.
These vehicles are usually between $20,000 and $70,000 depending on the make/model, mileage, and overall condition of the vehicle. Newer shuttle buses or passengers vans that carry more people and are more technologically up to date in terms of accessories will obviously cost more.
Depending on the weight/size/type of the vehicle and the number of passengers it can carry, you will need a different class of license. Check with your state Department of Motor Vehicles for the class of license you need to obtain.
