There are three battery systems: Coach (24-volt) House (24-volt) and Generator (12-volt). Standard 8D batteries are used. The coach is equipped with regular coach heat and coach air conditioning for use while driving. While parked, there are four electric heaters with individual thermostats spaced throughout the coach with a fifth electric heater in the bathroom. There are also electric heaters in the underfloor water compartment. There are two central “house” air conditioners for use while parked. One is located behind the dinette and opposite the galley. The second unit is located in the bedroom. Features Has a 50-amp land line and can be fully hooked into water, sewer and electric at a campground. Interior The buddy/co-pilot seat is double wide and has an adjacent map light. A switch-operated(electric over air) trap door will cover the stepwell. Typical of Custom Coach, there is afold-up tray centrally located in front that includes cup holders.The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable and was recently rebuilt by CMI. Both thefront and side dash controls and gauges are standard MCI but additional conversion controlshave been added. There is a spotlight, a Jake brake, and a backup camera. The passengerdoor is opened by a standard handle on the front dash.Above the driver’s windshield is the typical elaborate Custom Coach control panel.Included is a rotary switch for shore or generator power along with a gauge showing inputvoltage. Circuit breakers are provided on two legs for 110-volt circuits including heating, airconditioning, refrigerator, etc. Toggle switches are provided for both DC and AC circuitsincluding 12- and 24-volt lighting, individual air conditioning units, the block heater, andeach battery charger. There are several gauges including battery condition gauges for allthree battery systems. Included is a new driver’s radio and a remote start for the generator.Inverter power can be fed to the front or rear entertainment outlets while the coach is moving. | ||

Comments 1947 GMC PD-3751 Motorcoach Bus. This bus is in good overall mechanical condition with major repairs to the front end, brakes and clutch over the past year. It is a super driver and the ride is smooth. The bus gets an honest 10 mpg on the road. The Bridgestone tires are in good shape. The engine is a 6-71 Detroit diesel and the transmission is a column mounted four speed spicer manual with jake brake. There are approximately 46,000 miles on the rebuilt engine and transmission. The bus is all aluminum all bumper to bumper, virtually no rust. This is a low production model with only 1,638 built in 1947-48. This is a quality bus.
The motorhome will sleep up to six, there is a full sized bed and TV in rear bedroom, dinette and sofa bed and 26 inch TV up front. Wardrobe and lots of cupboard storage. Stove, microwave, oven, and fridge in kitchen. Bathroom with china toilet and separate shower. Recent 17 foot outdoor outdoor awning. Two roof air conditioners with heat tape. Comments 1967 Silver Eagle Model 1 Motorcoach Conversion: 40' Coach. Originally a Trailways/Greyhound Coach. All of the seats were removed and 8 bunks were added, along with a galley with microwave, fridge and inverter. The front lounge has 2 sofas and 2 swivel chairs. This is a great project bus. The engine is mechanically sound. It runs and sounds strong (no pops or strange noises, sounds very smooth). The clutch and flywheel were replaced about 6000 miles ago, so drive train & transmission are in excellent shape for the age of the vehicle. However, there are a few things that need repair. The batteries need to be replaced, as they won't currently hold a charge. There is a small oil leak coming from the valve covers, and just needs new gaskets. Also, there is a small coolant leak, which is just a hose that needs to be replaced. It needs new wiper arms. The fuel gauge does not work and never has since I have owned it. I think the fuel tank has been replaced. The front steer tires are in pretty good shape. There is a flat tire in the rear inside drive. The rest of the rear tires are in average shape. The spare tire is good, so you would just need to replace the flat with the spare to roll. There is a brand new fiberglass rear end cap sent from Silver Eagle that will be included with the purchase. | ||

I drove this vehicle 1,100 miles.... It used no oil, and it runs out great.. ..... I have just started the cleaning process (not reflected in the pictures)..... The red is being polished, I am shinning the stainless steel, and also the top of the bus..... The tires are new, there is no rust due to the vehicle being in the south..... An eagle from the north would be rusted out by this time.... | ||

Comments Offered here is a 1951 Brill 35 ft passenger bus. Yes this bus is a runner and a driver. The short history on this bus is as follows. It was originally purchased by the Rockford Il airport and used as the transit bus for the EAA Museum. This is why the bus is littered with all of the old airline stickers and memorabilia. When the EAA decided to move to Appleton Wisconsin, they held an auction at the original location in Rockford. A close friend of mine purchased the bus, as there was no way he could pass up this piece of history. He removed many of the rear seats in the bus and layed down a dance floor in the rear. The front seats were turned towards each other and 2 tables were installed. The party bus was born. He used it for camping expeditions as well as parties for years to follow. The bus has made its way into Canada twice and the break waters once. In 2002, buried in work and business the bus started getting used less. He planned one last trip which ended in a blown oil line which destroyed the motor. Not wanting the bus to be scrapped, the motor was removed and rebuilt completely and back on the road again. To current date, the bus has seen a little over 900 miles from time of rebuild.
I purchased the bus 3 months ago. After sitting for 2 years with no attention paid to it, we were able to fire it off and drive it out of storage ( stored inside the whole time my friend owned it). We barely made it home due to clogged fuel filters and a gummed up carb. We were able to easily find a rebuild kit for the carb and rebuild the whole unit. It is back up and running like a champ now. The engine is the very well known 450ci Red Diamond International gas motor. From what I have been told... this motor is worth pretty tall cash as it was used in many tractors and implements and is well known for being one of Internationals most reliable motors. The transmission is a 3spd manual which runs the bus down the road at 55mph.
Since I have owned the bus, I have rebuilt the carb, changed the fuel filters a few times, replaced the fuel pump, changed the oil and worked on getting some of the lighting back up and working. There is still a ways to go to make it a reliable runner but for now it does run down the road. The air system works properly and the brakes work very well. I do know that the brake system was addressed when the bus was used on a regular basis and still seems to be in great working order. The horn, wipers, and many of the lights work but all systems should be gone over and cleaned. The tires all hold and maintain air pressure but are very old. All of the windows in the bus are the original windows which slide correctly and are not broke. All of the stationary glass is in good shape, but the windshield has 2 chips in it. They could probably be filled and fixed by a glass repair shop.
In closing... I purchased 5 vehicles from the previous owner of this bus and wanted nothing to do with the 6th which was this Brill. To close the deal, He insisted that I purchase this as well. Now, I am glad that I had the opportunity to own a great piece of history and have enjoyed it immensely. With the large amount of vehicles I own, it is time for me to move on to the next project and let somebody else enjoy all that this bus has to offer. I am not selling this bus because I need the money or need the room. I am selling it because this bus deserves to be in the hands of someone who has a vision for what it can BE.

Comments 1939 GM FUTURLINER - ONE OF ONLY 12 MADE, The Futurliner is 33’ long, 8’ wide, 11’-7" tall vehicle with a whopping 248" wheelbase. An unusual feature of the Futurliner is its dual (side by side) front wheels. Each wheel has its own set of brakes, brake drums and bearings. The driver's eyes are 10 feet above road level. He has a single seat which is located at the front center of the compartment. The driver's area is intended to feel like a cockpit similar to the fighter planes of the era. Behind him are twin relief seats for assistances or special guests.The compartment is kept at a comfortable temperature by a Frigidaire air conditioner similar to what was available on some 1953 GM passenger cars. The windshield curves almost completely around the compartment and was of green-tinted E-Z Eye glass. Futurliner windshields were the largest E-Z Eye installations ever made up until that time. Futurliners were equipped with the Guide Lamp Division's Autronic-Eye, which automatically lowered the headlight beams when another vehicle approached, then raises the lights again.
Power Steering was developed by the Saginaw Steering Gear Division. The steering wheel is mounted on a streamlined column at the front center of the compartment. Foot pedals for the brake and accelerator are treadle type with corrugated rubber treads, set off by chrome plates. There was no clutch. Transmissions are Dual-Range Hydra-Matic manufactured by the Detroit Transmission Division.
Each Futurliner was powered by a 145 horsepower, 302 cubic inch GMC gasoline engine, which is located directly under the driver's compartment. Compression ration is 7.3 to 1. Bore and stroke are each 4 inches. They produced 262 foot pounds of torque at 1,400 revolutions per minute. The engine is reached for servicing by a large door which is located at the left front of the vehicle. There are two gasoline tanks, each holding 45 gallons, located in front of the rear wheels.
Safety features include dual front wheels which increase roadability and safety rubber covered bumpers give the steel bumpers added protection and rubber rail runs around the base of the body.

Comments 1947 GMC PD-3751 Motorcoach Bus. This bus is in good overall mechanical condition with major repairs to the front end, brakes and clutch over the past year. It is a super driver and the ride is smooth. The bus gets an honest 10 mpg on the road. The Bridgestone tires are in good shape. The engine is a 6-71 Detroit diesel and the transmission is a column mounted four speed spicer manual with jake brake. There are approximately 46,000 miles on the rebuilt engine and transmission. The bus is all aluminum all bumper to bumper, virtually no rust. This is a low production model with only 1,638 built in 1947-48. This is a quality bus.
The motorhome will sleep up to six, there is a full sized bed and TV in rear bedroom, dinette and sofa bed and 26 inch TV up front. Wardrobe and lots of cupboard storage. There are three battery systems: Coach (24-volt) House (24-volt) and Generator (12-volt). Standard 8D batteries are used. The coach is equipped with regular coach heat and coach air conditioning for use while driving. While parked, there are four electric heaters with individual thermostats spaced throughout the coach with a fifth electric heater in the bathroom. There are also electric heaters in the underfloor water compartment. There are two central “house” air conditioners for use while parked. One is located behind the dinette and opposite the galley. The second unit is located in the bedroom. Features Has a 50-amp land line and can be fully hooked into water, sewer and electric at a campground. Interior The buddy/co-pilot seat is double wide and has an adjacent map light. A switch-operated(electric over air) trap door will cover the stepwell. Typical of Custom Coach, there is afold-up tray centrally located in front that includes cup holders.The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable and was recently rebuilt by CMI. Both thefront and side dash controls and gauges are standard MCI but additional conversion controlshave been added. There is a spotlight, a Jake brake, and a backup camera. The passengerdoor is opened by a standard handle on the front dash.Above the driver’s windshield is the typical elaborate Custom Coach control panel.Included is a rotary switch for shore or generator power along with a gauge showing inputvoltage. Circuit breakers are provided on two legs for 110-volt circuits including heating, airconditioning, refrigerator, etc. Toggle switches are provided for both DC and AC circuitsincluding 12- and 24-volt lighting, individual air conditioning units, the block heater, andeach battery charger. There are several gauges including battery condition gauges for allthree battery systems. There are three battery systems: Coach (24-volt) House (24-volt) and Generator (12-volt). Standard 8D batteries are used. The coach is equipped with regular coach heat and coach air conditioning for use while driving. While parked, there are four electric heaters with individual thermostats spaced throughout the coach with a fifth electric heater in the bathroom. There are also electric heaters in the underfloor water compartment. There are two central “house” air conditioners for use while parked. One is located behind the dinette and opposite the galley. The second unit is located in the bedroom. Features Has a 50-amp land line and can be fully hooked into water, sewer and electric at a campground. Interior The buddy/co-pilot seat is double wide and has an adjacent map light. A switch-operated(electric over air) trap door will cover the stepwell. Typical of Custom Coach, there is afold-up tray centrally located in front that includes cup holders.The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable and was recently rebuilt by CMI. Both thefront and side dash controls and gauges are standard MCI but additional conversion controlshave been added. There is a spotlight, a Jake brake, and a backup camera. The passengerdoor is opened by a standard handle on the front dash.Above the driver’s windshield is the typical elaborate Custom Coach control panel.Included is a rotary switch for shore or generator power along with a gauge showing inputvoltage. Circuit breakers are provided on two legs for 110-volt circuits including heating, airconditioning, refrigerator, etc. Toggle switches are provided for both DC and AC circuitsincluding 12- and 24-volt lighting, individual air conditioning units, the block heater, andeach battery charger. There are several gauges including battery condition gauges for allthree battery systems. Included is a new driver’s radio and a remote start for the generator.Inverter power can be fed to the front or rear entertainment outlets while the coach is moving. | ||
