1962 Silver Eagle Motorcoach Conversion

1962 Silver Eagle Coach. It's a motorhome conversion on an industrial diesel bus chassis..... This rig does need some TLC and has been sitting for the last year, but if you search around, you'll find Silver Eagle bus completed conversions priced up to $90,000 with most of them between $20,000 and $40,000. Save yourself $ in this economy by doing it yourself and have it finished just the way you'd like it to be!.... This Belgian built Eagle is right in the middle of the Silver Eagle Model 01 production line which stretched from 56-68..... Detroit Diesel 8V-71N and a manual transmission..... Industrial grade stuff!.... The bus has a brushed aluminum skin with a normal amount of battle scars.... One thing that'll turn a lot of people off about the bus is the paint..... It has flaking paint in places and in general doesn't look like much..... The bus is 40' in length..... It has storage compartments (where they used to keep the luggage and other busy-stuff) stretching along both sides with cool opening latches.... Mechanically the bus runs and drives..... It drove into place at my friends' homestead but has not been on the road for long distance drives for a few years..... The rig needs either a new clutch, a clutch adjustment, or something else I don't understand in order to be drivable.... It comes with some spares and extras, including two full size tires with good tread, propane tanks, spare starter and brand new 8D batteries..... It starts right up..... This is a unique and cool project for the right person..... This could be: A home. A business venture (fix it up and resell it) A short term business venture (pull the motor, tranny, and other infrastructure, and scrap the whole thing to make more than the cost you are paying......
