1962 Setra S-6L Conversion Bus

This 1962 Setra S-6L Alpine tour bus was converted at the Kassbohrer factory in Germany. Includes almost all detail parts, taken off to prevent theft. No engine; rear engine bay will take many large options. Manual steering, 5-speed ZF manual transaxle, air suspension, dually, advanced ultralight frame construction for on-road economy. Bath with shower, full kitchen and cabs. Needs complete restoration, including replacement of some body panels and interior details. Comes with or without rear motorcycle carrier. Overall about 25' long. Not for the faint-hearted, but ultra-cool potential and truly unique. Kassbohrer built about 1,200 S6s between 1954 and '63, and my sources say only of the stretched S-6Ls. As far as I've been able to discover this is the only one of its kind left.

Air suspension, roof lift by factory special order

The previous owner rebuilt the interior to marine specs, largely in teak. Restoration begun and abandoned years ago. Full kitchen includes oven and fridge compartment. Small 3/4 bath. Sofa folds out to full-size bed. Four-place dining area in rear dome.

Some rust-through and body filler loss, but most sheet metal is good and straight. Rear overhead acrylic windows crazed and browned from UV exposure. Needs some replacement of body and door panels and complete repaint.
